Here is a good example of adapting a brownies recipe to your own healthy one.
This author wanted ½ cup of butter. Because the consistency of coconut oil is the same I just replaced item for item.
Pretty standard measure for any chewy type of substance cookie or bar.,.
There are all kinds of research about coconut fats.
If you use olive oil need a little less moisture somewhere else.
Want to try rice oil when I can find it at a good cost. Supposed to lower cholesterol.
We took the white flour and replaced it with whole wheat. You could use quinoa flour instead because we are not really need the rising power of the gluten in this item. Could cook them individually and ended up with a cookie type of dessert. I like the bars because they are quick but not as crunchy. Could use a muffin pan to cook the so they all have a crust. My family likes softer not crunchy. The outside edges are mine, and that is plenty for me that likes the crunchy.
1 cup of butter replace with coconut oil.
1 cup flour – replace with wwflr
4 eggs instead of 6(I doubled the recipe
Used a little less sugar then called for because I think the raw sugar is very sweet, I wanted cocoa brownies and I added rich chocolate chips and they were sweet.
Vanilla was homemade .+
Leavening aluminum free. (this amount also changes texture could have used half as much.)
Sugar replace with raw sugar, could use honey, again may need a bit more dry ingredient for moisture change.
The sucranat (a very lightly processed cane sugar and raw sugar do not dissolve as well so I had to melt the coconut oil and so I stirred the sugar in to dissolve it better and cool the melted fat,
I use a few less eggs to help make more chewy and less cake like they called for three, I doubled the recipe and used four. This is a cooking pattern to know more eggs give a more cake like texture.
I used pecan pieces cause they were the cheapest nuts I could buy this month and I love pecans.
You know I thought living where they grow they would be cheaper but like a lobster in New England they can get more sending them away. Looking for a producer locally I can score from.
I bet I spent 10 more minutes making these from scratch putting things out and away. The time is to organize your pantry to have the ingredients on hand for all different combinations and you don’t need to run to the store for an expensive box mix full of chemicals.
Pour vodka over vanilla beans and wait. I found them at whole foods. They are expensive buy $12 worth of beans lasted me two years. Much cheaper. I poured new vodka over the beans every time it got low and that seemed to do. I had a clear bottle in a dark cabinet but a dark bottle is probably better.
In a far away village a baby came. She had peculiar trait. She had two bony growths on either side of her legs about the knees. In this village they either thought that was very good luck or bad.
Because she wanted to find her family she had a very open heart. This made the people see her as very special. Then one day a man came to the village and he gave her the name of Bony. But after awhile everyone called her Bonnie. When she learned to talk she asked everyone if they were her mother. Then one day she knew the kind man was her special adopted father so she called him special.
He taught her that her Father in Heaven thought she was beautiful. He was her true Father. Then one day she began to see Jesus walking with her and talking with her. She didn’t have a mother so she still asked everyone she met, if they were her mother. When they asked her about her parents she would tell them about her special father. Their hearts would open and then she taught them about her real Father in Heaven. Then she would tell them about Jesus. She didn’t understand why everyone could not see Him. One day Jesus told her that only people that believed that He was real could see him.
One day Bonnie asked Jesus why she couldn’t see her mother because she believed that she was real, and she still didn’t see her. Jesus explained that when she was born her mother was real and then she went to stay with Jesus’ Father in Heaven. That one day they would all go there and be with her. She didn’t want to wait but, then she quit asking people if they were her mother. Jesus wanted her to talk about Him to other people so He suggested that she ask people if they could see Him. Some could, so they would smile and nod when she bragged on Jesus and shared how much He loved her and she loved Him. Some would not and really didn’t have the time to hear about Jesus. That made Him sad. Then others wanted to hear but just couldn’t see Him. Bonnie kept telling people about Him because she could. Some people saw Him, some didn’t, but her heart was open so she kept asking.
I was looking for Bible commentaries, trying to tap into another’s mind about some of the mysteries of scripture. I know that in my relationship with Jesus I can tap into what He says about His own words, but sometimes I like a human person to show me how others may think, and go astray or process. I feel the work I do with ministering is to understand how to lead people to their own relationship with Jesus. I am always searching for understanding of other’s thinking process. He never leaves us or forsakes us. He is the Source for life and truth.
As I researched I ran across an article about mental illness. The story was about a person that is a cutter or self harming individual. I do know the power of the Holy Spirit to invade our minds and transform our ways of thinking but often it does not come easily or quite in the way we would think or like to see. In this story the young woman ended up in a mental health facility but in the process of healing she had an experience that fully equipped her to reach out to the next person that God brought into her life. She was able to reach out with personal revelation, and hang out with the student as she walked her own path into mental health treatment. Our processes are never quite as efficient as the creator. As we wait on God and follow the path He gives us to reach out to each person with their own uniqueness, I am reminded that life is messy. Situations often take time. Our time is not God’s. He has a plan and I find it usually does not look like the one I envisioned. Mostly that is good because as I look back I know that His plan was perfect and I did not have all perspectives.
Relationship is the key to all things. I have heard that if we master marriage we can develop a relationship with God. I have come to understand that the relationship with Jesus that is based on unconditional love is the pattern that we must learn in order to have any relationships.
Happy New year again.
This is the time of year to celebrate Jewish New Year and then to begin again with repenting on Yom Kippur. Jesus was a Jewish Rabbi so I so want to understand and participate in Jewish holidays and traditions. Often these help us see more richness in the Bible.
Yes, I know it may seem crazy but we celebrate Jan and a new year, Feb we celebrate Chinese New Year (we have many culturally different friends from our church,) in the spring we have an Iranian New Year (I worked with a doctor from Iran.).We have a corporate new year in the summer and then the fall we celebrate and reset again. So I purpose to restart anything that is not going well five times a year.
21 But in my mind I keep returning to something,
something that gives me hope —
22 that the grace of ADONAI is not exhausted,
that his compassion has not ended.
23 [On the contrary,] they are new every morning!
How great your faithfulness!
24 “ADONAI is all I have,” I say;
“therefore I will put my hope in him.
from the complete Jewish Bible.
This is my favorite verse on God renewing us with His compassion and grace, daily.
This has been a crazy year with lots of work at my ministry. Been busy and reworking the call on my life. I have been in a battle for my health and in most ways I am winning. So the shorting of my blogging. Still unable to work I am three days working at prayer ministry, and my continued studying. In my faith we believe that God’s mercies are new everyday. So forgiveness and mercy are ongoing with the renewal of our soul through our Savior, Jesus. Happy New Year , joyful new day.
This is a most intentional time that we have in the United States to give thanks. For those of you that do not know Whom we give thanks to, let me share the truth that there is one true God. He sent His son Jesus to earth to be human, die on a cross so we could be freed from the slavery of sin. You could say we become slaves to Christ. I would suggest you read my other blog on what it means in the Bible days to be a slave.
This week a lot of people will spend a lot of time and money gathering food and people to one place to become a thanksgiving celebration. For many the celebrating with family is painful and a lot of alcohol is mixed with the food and an incredibly difficult time is had by all.
To me the attitude of gratitude is the goal this week. Really this is practice to learn to live a life filled with gratitude. It is only in this place that the peace of the living God can move in our lives. He can teach us how to be grateful. The very first way is to recognize we need a savior. For those of you that don’t need one you may want to check out some of the modern books about hell. Consider, the most recent one about a little boy that visited heaven and met his sister that he did not know existed . She was a miscarriage and when the boy told his parents they were amazed because this child had never been told by them about her. There is heaven, there may be hell. For some of you it is faith to believe, but you have been given enough faith by God to believe, so tap into it.
I am most gratefiul, thankful and appreciative for a true relationship, friendship, and dynamic experiential time with Jesus. The Bible talks about us seeing Jesus and personal time with Him, as well as having the opportunity to hear from the Holy Spirit anytime we have a question.
The next richest thing I have to be grateful for is the friends I have. I am blessed beyond measure because my adopted family of God has some of the richest relationships on the planet. I am also blessed to have friendship amongst my immediate family. Those take work and investment of time, all of them, but I believe God created us to be in relationship with Him and through our relationships with others is how He heals our brokenness.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING, and thanks for visiting Nanaswordsofwisdom.com/blog
Halloween is an interesting controversy in the lives of Christians. It is reported today that it was not really as widely celebrated in early America, considering many of the early colonies were found on Christian guidelines and principles. The fear that witchcraft was real allowed for the Salem witch hunting to rise to large degrees. Today 100 million Americans practice occult behaviors. In one survey it was found that 67% of Americans believe in the supernatural and 42% think they have spoken to someone who died.
Demons masquerade as the dead. Openness to the occult are created by excessive fascination and involvement in the spirit world. Beliefs make all the difference. Christ calls us to take every thought captive.
I believe God has put in each of us an interest in the spiritual because as we are created in His image we are spirit, soul and body. That hunger can drive us to many wrong places and we get lost. The sorcery warning in the Bible actually comes from a Greek word Pharmacia that means druggist, poisoner. I can tell you from personal experience that the drug world(including alcohol, etc.) can open your mind to confusion, and open doors to the occult. Many of the gruesome murders in the past can be linked to drugs. The current issue in the west with Mexican drug wars are exactly related to the evil part of drugs. It is not all about the illegality of it .
Seeking out of divination, reincarnation, and paganism are all open doors to the demonic. A true understanding can be extrapolated by studying the scripture.
A great deception around today is that all people have psychic powers like another sense and development is like being able to see. There is a lot of studying about spiritual gifts in the scripture. There is a gifting of spiritual things by God but satan is the great deceiver and he wants to mimic everything of God. One scripture to explain that is found in Acts 16
“16Once when we were going to the place of prayer, we were met by a slave girl who had a spirit by which she predicted the future. She earned a great deal of money for her owners by fortune-telling. 17This girl followed Paul and the rest of us, shouting, “These men are servants of the Most High God, who are telling you the way to be saved.” 18She kept this up for many days. Finally Paul became so troubled that he turned around and said to the spirit, “In the name of Jesus Christ I command you to come out of her!” At that moment the spirit left her..” Acts 16:16-18
Another deception is that there is good magic and bad magic. The interfacing of all this confusion is so blatant even down to the children’s cartoons it is important for us to understand the truth and teach it to our children. This season is a great time to teach what we believe to our children. The fact is that so many, even “Christians”, those who claim to know Christ, have misconceptions and confusion.
Halloween is a special day for the chance of bringing occult into the average peoples lives. There is a quest on the part of many to know the future and walking by faith is trusting God without knowing the future. Many doors are open when people seek to know the future. Do not play with the occult because there is more danger there than you know.
“Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.” 2Timothys 2:15 Study the Bible for yourself and seek the truth. Do not be afraid , but understand what God says about the occult and have a real relationship through Jesus to understand what you want your children to know about this time of year. A could source for scriptural study is Khourse.org. This week there are some audio teachings to help in your research.
